Robots impress at China’s World Humanoid Robot Games

China’s Humanoid Robot Games returned to Beijing for a second year, featuring 51 events ranging from sports competitions to obstacle-course challenges. Spectators praised the rapid advances in robotics as humanoid robots performed backflips, cartwheels and other complex movements. While supporters see the Games as a showcase of innovation, critics view them as a display of China’s engineering ambitions.
