The death toll from a Russian attack on a Ukrainian village has risen to 31, with dozens still missing as rescue teams search through the rubble.

Ukrainian officials have described the strike on a school being used as an aid center as one of the deadliest civilian tragedies in the Zaporizhzhia region since the war began.

Rescuers worked under the threat of Russian drones, and witnesses accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians with repeated bomb attacks. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the assault, saying it showed Moscow has no interest in de-escalation.
