Spain‘s North African exclave of Ceuta is facing the aftermath of a large migrant surge that has reignited debate over migration across the EU.
While most of the roughly 60,000 migrants have returned to Morocco, authorities are still trying to identify many of the at least 72 people who died attempting to reach European territory.
Families on the Moroccan side of the border continue searching for missing relatives.
The crisis has also sparked political tensions, with Spain and Italy exchanging criticism over migration policies and European solidarity, while the human cost remains evident in the grief of families awaiting answers.
