Third tanker hit near Oman after US attack kills three Indian sailors

The US confirms strikes on two vessels, Settebello and Marivex. India says all 20 crew members on board a third vessel, Jalveer, are safe following a suspected US strike.

The US has confirmed it carried out a strike on Guinea-Bissau-flagged vessel M/T Jalveer.

Central Command (Centcom) says the ship “violated the blockade” by attempting to transport Iranian oil through the Gulf of Oman.

It is the third vessel struck by US forces in the Gulf this week after attacks on the Marivex and Settebello vessels, according to Centcom.
