The death toll from the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela has climbed to nearly 4,000, as rescue teams continue to recover bodies from collapsed buildings more than two weeks after the disaster.
The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude quakes devastated communities in La Guaira state, leaving hundreds of thousands affected. Survivors are still searching for loved ones and struggling without adequate support, while the United Nations and several countries provide humanitarian aid to help those who have lost family members, homes and livelihoods.
