LivestreamMenuWe are selling 100 shares of Procter & Gamble at roughly $151.16. Following the trade, Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust will own 200 shares of PG, decreasing its weighting in the portfolio to 0.75% from 1.15%. We’re paring back our Procter position ahead of earnings on Wednesday morning. Shares are up nicely on Tuesday and outperforming the broader market as money rotates out of data-center stocks and into other areas. Consumer staples was the second-best performing S & P 500 sector in the session, helped by the 4% rally in Coca-Cola in reaction to an upbeat earnings report. We also note that the reported quarter will be the fourth of Procter & Gamble’s fiscal year 2026. That means the company will issue guidance for its now-underway fiscal 2027. Given the company’s long history of underpromising and overdelivering, management could once again issue conservative guidance, potentially weighing on the stock. From this sale, we will realize a small gain of about 1% on stock purchased in November 2025. When we took our position in P & G last fall, it was rooted in the idea that the defensive stock would be a hedge against weakness in the AI trade. While the AI trade was hot to start the year, having some defensive exposure via P & G has helped during this volatile summer. (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust is long PG.
