Pakistan’s trade relationship with the European Union is shaped by deep reliance on EU markets, strategic geography and shifting global competition. The EU accounts for nearly a third of Pakistan’s exports, mainly textiles, but its overall share in EU imports remains small.

With new EU trade deals emerging and India negotiating a free trade agreement, Pakistan faces pressure to diversify beyond low‑value goods and strengthen manufacturing capacity. At the same time, regional instability is reshaping trade routes. The future of EU-Pakistan trade may hinge on how quickly Pakistan adapts to these economic and geopolitical shifts.
