Ravneet and Pritpal MannA couple who were picked out to join Punjabi singing star Diljit Dosanjh on stage at his Birmingham show have described it as a dream come true.
Fans Ravneet and Pritpal Mann from Wolverhampton said they “caught his eye” and ended up meeting him and joining in with the dancing at the Utilita gig on Friday.
“This is what cloud nine must feel like,” Pritpal said of the experience, which was captured on film by family members.
Dosanjh who is touring the UK, became the first ever Punjabi singer to headline Wembley Stadium last week, the music venue has said.
The couple, who run the Jodi Dancers school, said the moment was something they had always wished for, having been to several of the artist’s previous concerts.
They wore Dosanjh t-shirts to the gig and were stood at the front.
“It was crazy. I was definitely manifesting it all week,” said Ravneet. “I was saying all week, ‘we will get on stage, we will do this’, and it happened.”
Diljit DosanjhHer husband added: “I can’t express the feeling. I’ve been a fan of his for 15 years.
“We’ve been to Leeds in 2022 and Birmingham 2024 and we went to Wembley as well and went to Birmingham – and booked Manchester last minute.
“It just felt like it was our time.”
The singer initially made a heart sign with his hands to her, Ravneet said, adding: “That was enough for me”.
Her husband pointed at him, indicating his love for Bhangra dancing [traditional folk dance], and Dosanjh responded with a gesture to give him a couple of minutes, before picking them out two songs later.

She joked that when they made it on to the stage she completely forgot about her husband.
“I was like ‘Pritpal who?’. I ran and that was it.”
Meanwhile, Pritpal described the moment as “a blur”.
“It was adrenaline, pure excitement, pure joy and pure love,” Ravneet added. “Our dream came true.
“All we’ve ever wanted in our life is to be able to dance with him… and it happened in an organic way… and to do [it] together.
“He was so nice. Genuine.”

The couple, who met through their love of dancing, run weekly classes in Wolverhampton, Telford and Oldbury.
