SINGAPORE: The Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) is assisting affected customers over unfulfilled orders from household appliances company Nereos, it said on Monday (Aug 24).
In response to CNA’s queries, CASE said that it received 47 complaints against Nereos from Jan 1 to Aug 19.
Customers had bought home appliances such as water dispensers, water purifiers and laundry drying racks from the company.
However, they complained that deliveries and installations were not completed on the agreed dates and that the business repeatedly rescheduled appointments that were still not fulfilled, CASE added.

The association also said that it is assisting customers seeking to cancel their purchases and obtain refunds.
Google reviews for the company showed numerous one-star reviews made in recent weeks about items that were ordered but never delivered.
In one review, a customer paid a deposit for a titanium laundry rack with delivery set for April at first, but the company repeatedly postponed the installation, with the latest being in September. The customer has tried to contact Nereos for a full refund.
CASE said: “When purchasing household appliances, consumers are advised to research, compare options and check the business’ track record and independent reviews before committing to the purchase.
“Where appropriate, consumers should avoid paying the full contractual amount upfront. They should negotiate to pay a small deposit at the point of confirmation, with the remaining balance paid only upon delivery and installation.”
CASE also encouraged members of the public to patronise home appliance businesses that are accredited with CaseTrust, as they are committed to fair trading and consumer-friendly business practices.
Consumers who need assistance can approach CASE at its hotline 6277 5100 or via its website.
