Colombia earthquake: Rescue workers continue search

More than 250 people have died after a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, with Cali among the hardest hit cities.

More than 48 hours after the disaster, rescue teams continue searching collapsed buildings for survivors as the crucial rescue window narrows.

Colombia’s newly inaugurated president has pledged support for affected communities, while the government has declared a national emergency and appealed for international assistance.

The country has also begun three days of mourning for the victims.
