Germany has taken delivery of its first F-35 stealth fighter jet as part of a major effort to modernize the Bundeswehr amid growing security concerns in Europe. The US-made aircraft, among the most advanced combat jets in service, will form part of Germany’s future air force fleet. The purchase reflects a significant shift in German defense policy following Russia’s war in Ukraine and underlines Berlin’s commitment to NATO. The arrival of the F-35 could reshape Germany’s military role and strengthen the alliance’s deterrence capabilities.
