A school day in Peshawar, Pakistan, turned deadly when the roofs of two classrooms collapsed shortly after classes began, trapping second- and third-grade students under the rubble. Witnesses described desperate rescue efforts as children were pulled from debris before ambulances arrived.
Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause, but residents blame poor construction standards and low-quality materials. Police say the school owner has been taken into custody, and the provincial government has launched an investigation into the incident.
