Teenage cyclist dies after hit-and-run collision at Nugentstown, Kells

A teenager has died after a hit-and-run collision in Nugentstown, County Meath in the Republic of Ireland.

A man in his late teens has died after a hit-and-run collision in County Meath in the Republic of Ireland.

Gardaí (Irish police) said the incident involving a van and a bicycle occurred at about 20:05 local time on Tuesday at Nugentstown, Kells.

They said the van failed to remain at the scene, where the cyclist was pronounced dead.

The coroner has been notified and the road remains closed.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward and have asked anyone with camera footage, including dash cam or mobile phone recordings, to “make this footage available” to them.
