Trump pledges sale of F-35 warplanes to Turkey

The F-35 fighter jet is the most prized piece of airborne equipment on the planet. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the sale of the stealth warplanes would destroy the balance of power in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump has told his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Washington will consider selling F-35 fighter jets, one of the world’s most sophisticated military aircraft, to NATO ally Turkey. This despite objections by Israel‘s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who alleges that Turkey has “aggressive aspirations.”
