As Russians prepare to elect a new parliament, public anxiety has reached new levels as the war in Ukraine continues. Polls show growing concern over Ukrainian drone strikes inside Russia , civilian casualties and fuel shortages caused by attacks on oil facilities. President Vladimir Putin‘s United Russia party is campaigning on continuing the war, but surveys say support for peace talks is growing. Critics say opposition voices have been sidelined, with the anti-war party Yabloko barred from the election and its supporters facing repression. Despite public discontent, analysts say, the vote is unlikely to change Kremlin policy.
